These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tikkio Public Discovery API ("API"), provided by Tikkio AS ("Tikkio", "we", "us").
By accessing or using the API, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of the API
The Tikkio Public Discovery API provides access to publicly available information about events, organizers, locations and related event data published through Tikkio.
The API is intended primarily for services that help users discover public events, such as cultural calendars, event listings, destination websites, media services and similar applications.
The Public Discovery API is separate from Tikkio's organizer API and does not provide access to private organizer information, ticket purchaser information, participant information or other non-public data.
2. Permitted use
You may use information obtained through the API to:
display and promote public events;
create event calendars, event listings and discovery services;
link users to events or organizers available through Tikkio;
combine public event information with other relevant information as part of a broader discovery or information service.
Your implementation must present information in a way that is reasonably accurate and does not mislead users about Tikkio, an organizer, an event or the source of the information.
Where event information is displayed to end users, your service must, where technically and contextually appropriate, provide a clear link to the corresponding event page on Tikkio.
3. Prohibited use
You may not use the API or information obtained through the API:
to create, operate, improve or support a ticketing, event management, event communication or substantially similar service where data obtained through the API forms a material part of that service;
to redirect, reproduce or otherwise facilitate the sale of tickets for Tikkio events through alternative sales channels without permission from Tikkio or the relevant organizer;
to offer the API data itself as a competing API, data feed or substantially similar commercial data service;
to facilitate ticket sales outside the sales channels selected by the organizer, unless separately agreed with Tikkio or the relevant organizer;
in a manner intended to harm, disrupt, interfere with or otherwise negatively affect Tikkio, its services, its reputation, its organizers or their events;
to misrepresent events, organizers, availability, pricing or other information provided through the API;
to imply that Tikkio or an organizer endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with your service where no such relationship exists;
to circumvent technical restrictions, security measures or access limitations;
to overload, disrupt or impair the API or other Tikkio systems;
for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes.
Normal event discovery services that include events from multiple ticketing providers are not considered competing services solely for that reason.
Tikkio may determine that a use falls outside the intended purpose of the Public Discovery API even if that use is not explicitly listed above.
4. Event information and responsibility
Information available through the API may originate from organizers using Tikkio.
Organizers are responsible for the event information they publish, including event descriptions, dates, locations, images, prices and other event details.
Tikkio does not guarantee that information obtained through the API is complete, accurate or up to date at all times.
Where practical, applications using the API should regularly refresh information so that changes made by organizers are reflected within a reasonable period of time.
5. Storage, caching and data harvesting
You may temporarily store or cache API data where reasonably necessary to operate your service.
You must take reasonable measures to ensure that stored information does not become materially outdated.
You may not create a permanent independent database consisting substantially of data obtained from the API for purposes unrelated to the permitted uses described in these Terms.
You may not systematically harvest, archive or collect API data for the primary purpose of creating a historical dataset, data broker service, competing database or other independent data product.
Reasonable caching and storage required for the normal operation of a permitted event discovery or information service is allowed.
6. Intellectual property
Access to the API does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights belonging to Tikkio, organizers or other third parties.
Event descriptions, images, trademarks, logos and other content available through the API may be protected by intellectual property rights belonging to an organizer or another third party.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of such content is lawful.
The Tikkio name, trademarks and branding may not be used in a way that suggests an official partnership, endorsement or affiliation without prior written permission from Tikkio.
7. API availability, versioning and changes
The API is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
Tikkio may at any time:
modify the API;
add, change or remove fields or endpoints;
introduce technical or usage limitations;
temporarily suspend the API;
discontinue parts or all of the API.
Tikkio will generally seek to maintain compatibility within a published API version. Material breaking changes will normally be introduced through a new API version where reasonably practicable.
Where reasonably possible, Tikkio will seek to avoid unnecessary disruption to legitimate API users, but we do not guarantee continued availability or backwards compatibility.
8. Rate limits and excessive use
Tikkio may introduce or enforce reasonable rate limits or other technical restrictions to protect the availability, performance and security of its services.
You must not attempt to bypass such restrictions.
Use that causes excessive load or otherwise affects Tikkio's systems or other users may be restricted or blocked.
9. Suspension and termination
Tikkio may restrict or block access to the API if we reasonably believe that:
these Terms have been violated;
the API is being misused;
the use presents a security or operational risk;
the use may cause harm to Tikkio, an organizer, an event or another party.
Where reasonably practicable, Tikkio may require a user to cease using API data obtained in violation of these Terms and to delete stored copies of such data.
10. No warranty
Tikkio makes no warranties regarding the availability, accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of the API or information provided through it.
You are responsible for how the API and its data are implemented and used in your own service.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tikkio shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, reliance on or inability to access the API.
Tikkio is not responsible for losses resulting from incorrect, outdated or incomplete information supplied by organizers or other third parties.
12. Changes to these Terms
Tikkio may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the API after updated Terms have been published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of the API shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.
